कोरोना महामारी में भी फ्रॉड करने से बाज नहीं आए अपराधी, रोमांस के नाम पर लगाई अरबों की चपत
जब पूरा विश्व कोरोना महामारी से जूझ रहा है और रोजाना हजारों लोगों की जान जा रही है, उस दौरान भी अपराधी फ्रॉड करने से नहीं चूक रहे। महामारी के दौरान ब्रिटेन में रोमांस फ्रॉड या डेटिंग फ्रॉड के मामलों में बढ़ोतरी हुई है। दरअसल, ऑनलाइन डेटिंग के बहाने से लोगों को अरबों की चपत लग चुकी है।
ब्रिटेन में साइबर क्राइम और फ्रॉड मामलों की जानकारी रखने वाली संस्था एक्शन फ्रॉड ने गुरुवार को कहा कि अगस्त 2019 से लेकर अगस्त 2020 तक लोगों की 6 अरब से अधिक रुपये की चपत लग चुकी है। इस हिसाब से फ्रॉड का शिकार हुए प्रति व्यक्ति का यह नुकसान तकरीबन 95 लाख रुपये का है। वहीं, इस साल जून, जुलाई और अगस्त में कंपनी ने हर महीने 600 से अधिक रोमांस फ्रॉड के मामले दर्ज किए हैं। इस दौरान, कोरोना वायरस के चलते लॉकडाउन लागू था।
रोमांस फ्रॉड या फिर डेटिंग फ्रॉड ऐसा अपराध है, जहां लोग किसी से डेटिंग ऐप के जरिए ऑनलाइन मिलते हैं। कुछ हफ्तों, महीनों की बातचीत के बाद व्यक्ति सामने वाले पर भरोसा करने लगता है। उसे यह नहीं मालूम होता है कि सामने वाला उसके साथ फ्रॉड करने जा रहा है। फ्रॉड करने वाला दुनिया के किसी भी हिस्से का हो सकता है।
एक्शन फ्रॉड ने बताया कि अपराधी का एक ही लक्ष्य होता है और वह यह है कि कैसे सामने वाले व्यक्ति के पैसे हड़पे जाएं या फिर उसकी निजी जानकारी को चुराया जाए। संस्था ने लोगों के बीच रोमांस फ्रॉड के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए कई कैंपेन भी शुरू किए हैं, जिससे लोगों को इसके बारे में पता चल सके।
लंदन पुलिस के एलेक्स रॉथवेल ने कहा कि रोमांस फ्रॉड एक ऐसा अपराध है, जो लोगों पर आर्थिक और भावनात्मक तरीके से प्रभाव डालता है। उन्होंने कहा कि फ्रॉड करने वाले शोध करते हुए घंटों बिताते हैं, खासकर जब रोमांस फ्रॉड करते हैं। हम सभी से कहते हैं कि किसी व्यक्ति के लिए जाएं, नाकि उनकी प्रोफाइल देखकर। यह आपकी और आपके पैसे की सुरक्षा कर सकता है।
