उनके निधन क़ी सूचना से सभी राज्य आन्दोलनकारियों क़ो गहरा धक्का लगा। राज्य आंदोलनकारी मंच ने उनके निधन पर गहरा दुःख व्यक्त करते हुए श्रद्धांजली अर्पित क़ी।
उत्तराखण्ड आन्दोलन मे़ जीतपाल जी दिल्ली रैली के दौरान मुजफ्फरनगर काण्ड मे़ घायल हुए थे एवं वह मुजफ्फरनगर काण्ड मे़ CBI के प्रमुख गवाह भी रहे है। वह अभी चार वर्ष पहले ही शिक्षा विभाग से सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे। वह अपने पीछे पत्नी के साथ दो पुत्र एवं दो पुत्रियों क़ो छोड़ गये।
जीतपाल जी अंतिम दिनो तक राज्य हितों से लेकर राज्य आन्दोलनकारियों क़ी मांगो क़ो लेकर व प्रत्येक कार्यक्रम मे़ हमेशा सक्रिय रहते थे। राज्य आंदोलनकारी मंच ने उनकी आत्मा क़ी शाँति क़ी प्रार्थना क़ी।
आज पोस्टमार्टम के पश्चात दोपहर 04-बजे लक्खीबाग घाट पर उनका अंतिम संस्कार
किया गया।
