प्रदेश के पर्यटन मंत्री श्री सतपाल महाराज ने आज उक्त बात केंद्रीय पर्यटन मंत्री डॉक्टर प्रह्लाद पटेल को लिखे अपने एक पत्र में कही है। श्री सतपाल महाराज ने केंद्रीय पर्यटन मंत्री डॉक्टर प्रह्लाद पटेल को लिखे पत्र में कहा है कि कोविड महामारी के चलते देश एवं विदेश से यहां आने वाले पर्यटकों में भय का वातावरण है। इसलिए उन्हें भारत लाने के लिए सुरक्षा प्रदान करना नितांत आवश्यक है। श्री महाराज ने कहा कि देशी विदेशी पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करने के लिए एवं उनकी सुरक्षा को दृष्टिगत रखते हुए कोविड जीवन बीमा पॉलिसी लाना अति आवश्यक हो गया है। पत्र में श्री महाराज ने कहा यह भी कहा कि वर्ष 2021 में उत्तराखंड के प्रवेश द्वार हरिद्वार में कुम्भ आयोजित होना है। जिससे यहां अधिकाधिक श्रद्धालुओं तथा अध्यात्म से जुड़े जनमानस के आने की प्रबल संभावना है। इसलिए यहां आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की सुरक्षा हेतु कोविड जीवन बीमा कराया जाना बेहद जरूरी है। केंद्रीय पर्यटन मंत्री श्री प्रहलाद पटेल को लिखें पत्र में प्रदेश के पर्यटन मंत्री श्री सतपाल महाराज ने आग्रह किया है कि उनके इस सुझाव पर गंभीरता पूर्वक विचार किया जाए ताकि पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करने तथा उन्हें सुरक्षा हेतु आश्वस्त किया जा सके। श्री सतपाल महाराज ने कहा कि सिंगापुर और अन्य देशों में भी इस तरह की बीमा पालिसी को अमल में लाए जाने के प्रयास किए गए हैं। श्री महाराज ने कहा कि वर्ष 2019 में 10.9 बिलियन विदेशी पर्यटकों ने भारत का दौरा किया जबकि कोरोना महामारी के कारण देश में पर्यटन गतिविधियां खासी प्रभावित हुई हैं। इसलिए पर्यटन को पुनः पटरी पर लाने के लिए कोबिड बीमा पॉलिसी लागू किया जाना वर्तमान में आवश्यक प्रतीत हो रहा है
