चमोली । जम्मू कश्मीर के पुंछ जिले के बफलियाज इलाके में बीते गुरूवार को आतंकी हमले में शहीद हुए बमियाला गांव के नायक बीरेंद्र सिंह का अंतिम संस्कार सोमवार को नारायणबगड़ के त्रिवेणी संगम पर पूरे सैनिक सम्मान के साथ किया गया। क्षेत्रवासियों ने नम आंखों से उनको अंतिम विदाई दी। बीरेंद्र तेरा ऐ बलिदान याद रखेगा हिन्दुस्तान और भारत माता के नारों से नारायणबगड़ की धरती गूंज उठी थी।
इससे पूर्व गौचर हवाई पट्टी से सेना के विशेष वाहन से शहीद नायक बीरेन्द्र सिंह का पार्थिव शरीर दोपहर 12.30 बजे नारायणबगड़ पहुंचा और अंतिम दर्शनों के लिए जीआईसी के प्रांगण में सेना के बैंड के साथ लाया गया। शहीद के पिता सुरेंद्र सिंह उनकी दोनों बेटियां इशिका और आयशा बडे भाई धीरेंद्र सिंह ने उनके अंतिम दर्शन करते हुए पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की। सेना की ओर से देहरादून से आए जनरल मेजर कमांडिंग टीएम पटनायक, गढ़वाल राइफल्स देहरादून सेंटर कमांड के लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजा सुब्रमणि, माउंटेन ब्रिगेड जोशीमठ के ब्रिगेड कमांडर अमन आनंद और स्थानीय प्रशासन की ओर से पुलिस अधीक्षक चमोली रेखा यादव, एसडीएम कमलेश मेहता, तहसीलदार सुरेंद्र देव ने शहीद सैनिक के पार्थिव शरीर पर पुष्पचक्र अर्पित करते हुए नम आंखों से श्रद्धांजलि दी। जनप्रतिनिधियों की ओर से विधायक गोपाल राम टम्टा, पूर्व विधायक मुन्नी देवी शाह, ब्लॉक प्रमुख यशपाल नेगी, भाजपा नेता गणेश शाह, कांग्रेस के संदीप पटवाल, देवेंद्र रावत देवराज, विधायक प्रतिनिधि दलीप सिंह, पूर्व सैनिक संगठन के अध्यक्ष सुरेंद्र नेगी, दयाल सिंह तडा़की ने शहीद को श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित किए। इसके बाद सेना के बैंड के साथ शहीद नायक बीरेंद्र सिंह की अंतिम यात्रा नारायणबगड़ बाजार से होते हुए त्रिवेणी संगम पहुंची। शहीद की अंतिम यात्रा में हजारों की तादाद में पिंडरघाटी के हर क्षेत्र से पहुंचे लोगों ने नम आंखों से उन्हें विदाई दी। त्रिवेणी संगम पर सेना के सशस्त्र जवानों ने अपने जांबाज साथी को अंतिम सलामी दी। शहीद के बडे भाई धीरेंद्र सिंह ने उनकी चिता को मुखाग्नि दी।
