देहरादून । भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी (आईएमए) की पासिंग आउट परेड में शनिवार को 343 जेंटलमैन कैडेट्स प्रशिक्षण की अंतिम पग पार कर भारतीय सेना का अंग बन गये। 12 मित्र देशों के 29 कैडेट्स भी पासआउट हुए। परेड की सलामी श्रीलंका के सीडीएस जनरल डॉ. शिवेंद्र सिल्वा ने ली। शनिवार को आईएमए से पास आउट होकर 343 युवा अफसर देश सेवा के लिए सेना की मुख्यधारा में जुड़ गए। इसके साथ ही मित्र राष्ट्रों के 29 कैडेट्स भी पास आउट हुए। अकादमी के ऐतिहासिक चेटवुड भवन के सामने ड्रिल स्क्वायर पर सुबह आठ बजे परेड शुरू हुई। परेड के बाद पीपिंग सेरेमनी आयोजित की गई। इसके बाद देश और विदेश के 372 कैडेट्स अफसर बनकर अपनी सेनाओं की मुख्य धारा में जुड़ गए। इनमें 343 अफसर भारतीय सेना को मिले। आईएमए की स्थापना के बाद से अब तक यहां से 65234 देशी एवं विदेशी कैडेट्स पास आउट हो चुके हैं। वहीं, आईएमए के नाम अब तक 2914 विदेशी कैडेट्स को ट्रेनिंग देने का गौरव जुड़ गया है। उत्तराखंड वीरों की भूमि है। हर साल आईएमएम में होने वाले पीओपी में भी बड़ी संख्या में उत्तराखंड के युवा अफसर निकलते हैं। आबादी में अन्य प्रदेशों से काफी छोटा होने के बाद भी अफसर देने में उत्तराखंड अव्वल है। इस बार उत्तर प्रदेश के बाद उत्तराखंड दूसरे स्थान पर है। इस बार भी उत्तर प्रदेश सबसे ज्यादा कैडेट्स देने वाला राज्य बना है। उत्तर प्रदेश के 68 कैडेट्स पासआउट होकर अफसर बनेंगे। जबकि, उत्तराखंड इस बार दूसरे स्थान पर है। पिछली बार 20 राज्यों के कैडेट पीओपी में शामिल थे, लेकिन इस बार 27 राज्यों के कैडेट पीओपी में भाग लेंगे। उत्तर प्रदेश के 68, उत्तराखंड के 42, राजस्थान के 34, महाराष्ट्र के 28, बिहार के 27, हरियाणा के 22,पंजाब के 20, हिमाचल प्रदेश के 14, कर्नाटक के 11, जम्मू कश्मीर के 10, केरल के 9, पश्चिम बंगाल के 9, दिल्ली के 8, तमिलनाडु के 8, मध्य प्रदेश के 7,झारखंड के 5, उडीसा के 5, आंध्रप्रदेश के 04, छत्तीसगढ़ के 3, चंडीगढ़ के 3, गुजरात के 2, तेलंगाना के 1, अरुणाचल प्रदेश के 1, असम के 1, मणिपुर के 1, मेघालय के 1 और नेपाल मूल 4 कैडेट पास आउट हुए।
