प्रदेश के पर्यटन, सिंचाई, संस्कृति एवं धर्मस्व मंत्री श्री सतपाल महाराज को भारतीय जनता पार्टी के संगठन महासचिव बीएल संतोषी ने पश्चिमी बंगाल विधानसभा चुनाव प्रचार में बतौर स्टार प्रचारक जाने के निर्देश दिए। उत्तर बंगाल में भाजपा के चुनाव प्रचार का दायित्व संभाल रहे केंद्रीय पर्यटन मंत्री श्री प्रह्लाद पटेल श्री सतपाल महाराज के सिलीगुड़ी स्थित आश्रम में आए और उन्हें हाईकमान के निर्णय से अवगत कराते हुए उनके साथ उत्तर बंगाल में पार्टी के एजेंडे पर विस्तृत चर्चा भी की।
उन्होने श्री महाराज को बताया कि उत्तर बंगाल में परिवर्तन के लिए भाजपा के विजन जिसमें उत्तर बंगाल में एक एम्स की स्थापना, मानव संसाधन मंत्रालय के सहयोग से एक केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना, क्षेत्र में चाय बागानों, सिनकोना गार्डन, वन में रहने वाले निवासियों के लिए पारजा पट्टा जैसे अधिकारों को सुनिश्चित करने, चाय बागान श्रमिकों के लिए मजदूरी बढ़ाकर 350 रुपये प्रतिदिन करने के अलावा हर घर जल के माध्यम से 2024 तक सभी घरों में 100% सुरक्षित पेयजल सुनिश्चित करने, पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए बागडोगरा हवाई अड्डे को एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे के लिए अपग्रेड करने के साथ-साथ बौद्ध पर्यटक सर्किट, पहाड़ों की रानी पर्यटन सर्किट और स्थानीय युवाओं को रोजगार के अवसर प्रदान करने के लिए सिलीगुड़ी में एक आईटी पार्क स्थापित करने सहित अनेक विषयों पर चर्चा हुई।
